What is OptAI and why do I need it?
OptAI is an add-on service for Waybler’s charging system that automatically optimizes the main fuse to minimize power charges—without compromising full vehicle charging. It’s especially valuable for properties where power costs can quickly rise as the grid introduces power tariffs.
How does OptAI work, technically?
OptAI analyzes historical charging data and future forecasts to determine the lowest possible power budget needed to meet actual charging demand. The algorithm takes into account factors such as the number of charging sessions, average charging needs, connection time, and which hours of the day are subject to grid fees.
What types of properties benefit most from OptAI?
Savings vary depending on the grid operator and the conditions of the installation. On average, however, OptAI reduces power demand by around 35%, resulting in significant cost savings for the customer.
Do I need extra hardware to use OptAI?
No, OptAI can be used with or without a power meter. With property-level metering, optimization becomes more precise—but even without a meter, the system can calculate an effective current budget based on usage patterns.
